Carbondale is 2 hours from St. Louis International Airport (STL), 3.25 hours from Nashville International Airport (BNA), and 5 hours from O’Hare International Airport (ORD).  Commuter flights are available to Paducah, KY (1.25 hours from Carbondale) and Marion, IL (20 min. from Carbondale).  There is also Amtrak service from Union Station in Chicago to Carbondale (5.5 hours).

Carbondale is a GIGA bite city, offering high-speed internet access.

Memorial Hospital of Carbondale is a regional trauma center.  There are many area medical specialties located in the region.  Highly specialized treatment is available in St. Louis, MO.
